Much like bad weather hit the northwest the previous evening, Manchester City blew Manchester United away at the Etihad. It was a convincing 3-0 victory for the City coach's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they reinforced their place at the top of the table.

Back-to-Back Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome marked back-to-back Women's Super League defeats for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, leaving them seven points off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' capability to balance domestic and continental soccer with a small roster has been a widely debated issue since they secured entry to the UCL. Looking at the schedule, it always seemed this was the matchday that would fully examine this fortitude. Sadly for the visitors, they seemed fatigued from start to finish, the historic win against PSG clearly having left its mark.

Goals Galore
